Fable

The Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam challenged us to develop a AI voice agent to aid children in engaging in physical play. The project brainstorm about what values should be prioritized in the design, considering the target group and goal.


The project focussed on creating a final product, that is why we 3D modelled a custom case to put the electronics into. A cheap bluetooth speaker was deconstructed and fitted into the case.


Implementation was done by using a LiveKit voice-agent running in the cloud on a laptop, then the bluetooth device is connected to the laptop.

LiveKit offers a command line interface to upload and deploy agents that you configure locally. Our project used a started template that was heavily edited to implement a bunch of rules necessary for our usecase.
